OUR VISION AND MISSION
Our greatest vision is for all people to see who God is and for them to meet the One who paid the debt to sin and eternal death that we could not pay on our own, Jesus Christ. We want to do this through practical and insightful teaching, not only during the Sunday morning sermon, but also through our various Bible Studies that span all age groups. We also want people to celebrate and worship God for who He is and what He has done for us with their whole lives. We try to create a starting place for that by playing and singing contemporary music on Sunday mornings. We want to be the “city on a hill” that Matthew 5:14-16 talks about; the light of Christ for the world to see. We want to spread Christ’s love to Denison, IA and our surrounding communities! (You can see more about us here)
THE PROBLEM
We’re running out of room! We have literally knocked down every wall we can in our current building to try to make room for Sunday morning services and all of our weekly ministries. Even though we want to expand our ministry opportunities, we are maxing out the potential of this building so we can’t be as effective at accomplishing our mission as we could be. Also, right now we’re on the outskirts of the very town we want to change, in a building that can be somewhat difficult to find. We want to be a part of our community!
THE SOLUTION
God has provided a way for us to build a new building! We have purchased 10 acres of land just northwest of the hospital (up the hill), are are working with Brown Development Group to construct a building that serves our ministry vision and potential. While it is certainly not ultimately about the building, we feel as if a new location and specialized building will help us more effectively accomplish our mission, vision, and goals for this church and this community. Construction is estimated to be done by July 2017.
CITY ON A HILL
We have taken that Matthew 5:14-16 passage to heart and have named our project campaign “City On A Hill.” This is where we need all our hands on the rope to pull together towards our ultimate goal. The biggest thing that we can do for this project is to pray. We need to praying for God’s continued leadership and provision for this project as we look for what God has for us in a new location. We are excited for where we see God taking our church, and we hope that we can continue to impact this community for the Kingdom of God.
